Featured Testing Capability

Aerial Device Testing

aerial testingThe DTC, has several high voltage sources including our 1,200 kV test set. Among other things, This test set is used to test the leakage current of aerial devices and other insulated products. Testing services for aerial devices include chassis resistance measurements from the front to rear grounding stirrups and from turntable to grounding stirrup. We start with a complete inspection of the insulation sections and the components of the leakage current monitoring system. As part of the electrical test, we provide a test report including corona photographs for all aerial lifts rated at 345 kV and above. Read more

Coming soon…

1,300 kV Variable Frequency Resonant Test System

In the coming weeks, the DTC will receive our new 1.3 MV mobile source. This will be a completely self contained test set having a diesel generator capable of fully operating this test set at a remote location or it can be powered from an available 480 V single phase source. We will use this test set to qualify test new breakers in substations or even at a customer location for aerial device testing. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting addition to the DTC’s capabilities.
